How the Stardew Valley Fair calculator works

The Grange Display begins at 14 points. Each filled slot adds one point. Every item then earns points from its sell-price band and quality. Finally, each represented category adds 5 variety points, capped at 30 points. A score of 90 or more wins first place; 75–89 earns second, 60–74 earns third, and lower scores place fourth.

Quick winning example

Nine strong items with six represented categories usually clear 90 points. If your score is close, replace a low-value normal-quality item with a gold or iridium item and keep at least six categories represented.

What should you bring?

Prioritize high-quality artisan goods, animal products, fish, minerals, fruit, vegetables, cooking, or foraged items. Variety matters only up to six categories, so after reaching six, choose the highest-scoring remaining items.

Accuracy and limits

This calculator estimates Grange Display judging only. It does not score fair minigames or Star Token gambling. Item prices should be the base sell value of one item, including the quality, profession, and profit-margin effects shown in your game. The rules and thresholds are based on the Stardew Valley Wiki scoring table checked on July 22, 2026.

How to improve a borderline Fair score

Start by filling every slot because nine displayed items produce nine item-count points, while leaving one slot empty drops that part of the score to seven. Next, build six useful categories for the full 30-point variety bonus. Category variety is valuable, but a seventh or eighth category adds nothing, so those final slots should be chosen only for value-and-quality points. Check the price actually used by your game after quality, profession, and profit-margin effects. A higher displayed sell price can move an item into a stronger scoring band. When two items score equally, keep the one that preserves a missing category. This makes the calculator useful for comparing realistic inventories rather than copying a fixed list that may not exist in your save.

Common scoring mistakes

Do not enter a stack total: the judge scores one item in each slot. Do not count duplicate items as extra category variety. Do not assume iridium quality always wins; a cheaper iridium item can score less than an expensive gold-quality artisan good. Also remember that 90 points is enough for first place, so there is no gameplay reward for forcing a perfect 125 when the replacement items are difficult to obtain. Use the breakdown to see whether your weak point is empty slots, item value, or missing categories, then change only the lowest-return slot.
